Oaty Breakfast Smoothies

I don't know about you guys but sometimes I find breakfast can be the most difficult meal of the day.  For one I'm generally always too sleepy to make a decent healthy breakfast, and secondly i'm always too sleepy to ever chew anything! 

And I know it's awful but I always choose more sleep over breakfast! A habit that definitely needs to be stopped. But this is where the Breakfast Smoothies come in handy. They're incredibly easy to make and can be done the night before and just drank on the go. I have one nearly every morning and I feel like they really set me up for the day and keep me full so I don't snack all day! Perfect! 

All you need for the base is the milk, banana and oats, the rest of the ingredients can be varied. This is how I made mine this morning;

1 pint Milk (This can be replaced with soy or rice milk - also there's generally some left over with this amount)

1 large banana

A handful of frozen summer berries

1 tsp honey

2 tbsp oats 

Blueberries (to top)

Once all the ingredients are added just blend them with a decent blender!

Motel Rocks Dusk til Dawn Task: Nighttime Look

Okay so it's probably quite apparent already that I'm a big fan of the vamped up look for nights out, and I think this outfit is a perfect example. 

I absolutely love black and gold together, and I think it's incredibly timeless and can be worn in hundreds of different styles. For this style I decided to go with a glamorous yet 'don't-mess-with-me' kind of attitude. I adore the gothic style-d shoes and mixed in with the dark lipstick definitely makes the outfit bad-ass. Girly-ing it up with Motel's velvet Saskia crop top and Motel's Beetlejuice styled Kadie skater skirt, it makes for an interesting ensemble.

Okay so with this look all I could picture in my head when I was creating it was riding along a sunny highway on a motorbike with my arms wrapped around a hot guy. With this in mind I went for a more biker chic look. By teaming the gorgeous statement red Motel Jet Plunge Playsuit with white accessories and a cropped acid-wash denim jacket I wanted to create a girly yet attitude-filled outfit, perfect for a day out to a monster truck rally with a bad boy boyfriend. 

What a perfect fantasy.

Being a little bit of a Star Wars geek, when I saw the Black Milk Artoo dress it was something I loved straight away, and if I had unlimited money I would definitely buy this.

I created the outfit on Polyvore, and unfortunately they didn't have the Black Milk dress on there, so for now I replaced it with the only R2-D2 item of clothing on there that looked similar! I'm a big fan of black (you can probably tell) mixed with a statement pieces of a certain colour. I find sticking to the same colour pattern draws attention to the places that need it the most, rather than confusing the brain into looking everywhere and not paying attention to the key pieces. 

I'm loving the blue lipgloss and definitely think I need to add it to my collection for when i'm feeling more daring!

Amsterdam Vintage.

So a couple of weeks back I visited Amsterdam with some friends and even though I had been before I had never discovered the amazing vintage shopping culture there! Dotted about the city were loads of gorgeous little vintage shops, the rails colourful and rich with fashions of the past.

Surprisingly everything was reasonably priced as well. I always feel like the UK takes advantage of the 'vintage' label and over-charges for a lot of items that are basically just old rags. But even with the rubbish exchange rate between the Pound and the Euro, these items had fair prices. I could have literally spent all my time and all my money in these shops but with the short amount of time we had in Amsterdam it wasn't possible to spend hours in there! 

I'll definitely be going back as soon as I can to try and bag some characteristic, old fashions when I have the time. And I'd definitely recommend a trip to Amsterdam for these shops.

Okay so this is essentially my ideal outfit at the moment. However unfortunately for me I own none of these items yet and i'm not happy about it! All I keep daydreaming about is wearing this outfit on a warm summers evening with a cocktail in hand and preferably some palm trees around me. Alas, that will have to wait until I have added each and every one of these items to my wardrobe (and when I go to a country which has palm trees).

The Motel Catalina Dress is a girly yet sexy example of when Motel completely gets it right and creates the perfect, versatile dress to accompany you in any situation.

Teamed maybe with a small black or burgundy bag and some black tights depending on the weather, this outfit is another that I need in my closet asap. Hurry up student loan!
